Spring Camp Preview: Part 1
With spring camp starting in just over a week (spring schedule) there are a multitude of questions on the minds of Alabama fans. Some of these questions have been answered, although not permanently, and others are still left to be answered when the Tide enters summer and fall camp five months from now. Over the next few days we take a more in-depth look into the offense and the defense in terms of who is returning and who needs to “make that next step” in terms of play and leadership. What we know: We we released out projected spring depth chart we hit the mark on a few spots, and missed on a few others. It’s been reported here that the move from B.J. Scott from offense to the defensive secondary was expected this spring. What wasn’t known was whether Scott would start off working with the safeties or begin his work with the corner backs. Coach Saban has announced that Scott will start off working with the group at safety. While speaking with the media yesterday he went into further detail about the move and what the staff looked to have answered, “We’ll try B.J. Scott a little bit at safety first,” Saban said, “which is harder. We want to see what his capacity is to learn and adjust. Maybe we’ll look at him at corner at some point in time too. And again, this is just an experiment. It’s not a final decision.”
